Well it's been a loooooong 2 weeks but here I am --- discharged on Monday to hotel. Been getting the BEST medicine ever visiting with my family until I'm cleared to fly home ! I've actually EATEN!!! Scrambled egg a little each day for breakfast (drs' orders ----- "best source of albumen for healing he says!), some minestrone broth and 3 whole (albeit tiny) bites of the soup potato, ice cream (poor me I know), and COFFEE (thank you Jesus!). I'm still supplementing with my shakes because the Drs say to advance my diet VERY VERY slowly over the next several weeks. PurΓ©es to start. Low residue at first. Then as my "new" system adjust I can advance to thicker more normal eating as tolerated. There will always be things that will be "off limits" due to years of GI troubles and lacking my gallbladder, but eggs and soup? Not bad so far! My dream (yes dream I wrote---) SALAD! I've not had fruit or veggies in over a decade and miss those the most! Only reason I "had to" avoid them was the malrotation in my intestines. So....... there's hope. Like months from now --- of trying maybe a bite!
I want to thank everyone for their prayers, encouraging words (to me and to my family), thoughts, calls, cards, love and support. We are very lucky to be blessed with such dear friends and family! I hope you know how very much all your love has meant and how very much appreciated it is! π
Michael Lamond, Darryn Campbell, Kim Campbell, Darlene Marie Campbell and Daddy-O ---- our family is truly something special. πππ
This was a scary journey....but the real work actually starts now as I continue to be brave in my return to eating. It'll take just as much courage to stay the course with this process as it did flying out here. A decade of degeneration and my body rejecting any intervention given. 2 years without food. It's frightening to trust my gut ----- so please keep sending prayers and well wishes. Please keep sending the positive vibes through the universe because I truly believe it all helps!
I'll do my part. I'm a fighter. I'll continue to set the good example for my kiddos to never give up and to be graceful when facing challenges. But my goal ----- is that my struggle has given someone else strength for theirs. We all have something we're going through that the world knows nothing about .... be kind and patient with each other. Ive learned that you receive what you put out there. And in a world where we can be anything ---- let's be kind.
Thanks for following!
